When someone sits down for a consultation, the first thing they usually want to know is also the simplest: does this actually work? It's a fair question. You're putting time and money into it, and you deserve more than a promise. So here's the real answer.
A Track Record You Can Check
CoolSculpting has been used for more than 17 million treatments worldwide, and it's FDA-cleared for visible fat bulges under the chin and jawline, plus the thighs, abdomen, flanks, bra fat, back fat, the area beneath the buttocks, and upper arms. That kind of volume matters because it means the technology has been used on every type of body by providers all over the world.
I've personally performed more than 5,000 of those treatments right here in Norman, so I've seen how it plays out on real people, not just in a brochure. You can see some of those results on our stomach results page.
How the Results Last
CoolSculpting uses a process called cryolipolysis: controlled cooling that freezes the fat cells in the treated area. Over the following weeks, your body naturally clears those cells away. A single treatment can eliminate up to about 20 to 25 percent of the fat in the treated area, and because those fat cells are gone, they don't grow back.
Here's the part I always say out loud in a consultation: CoolSculpting isn't a weight loss treatment, and it doesn't make you immune to weight gain. The fat cells you still have can get larger if you gain weight. What CoolSculpting does is permanently remove the cells in the area you treated, so you're working with fewer of them from here on.
Why Your Plan Should Be Personal
No two people carry fat the same way, which is why there's no one-size-fits-all package. At your consultation we look at the areas you want to treat, how much fat is there, and what you want your results to look like, and then we build the plan around that. Most people need at least two sessions per area, spaced about four to eight weeks apart, and most start to see changes one to three months after treatment.
When it comes to a treatment plan, bigger isn't always better. The goal is the best contact between the applicator and your tissue, and that means the right size in the right spot. Here are three real plans, each marked out before treatment, and each one different.

Plan 1: I used a larger applicator on the lower abdomen, then smaller ones as I moved up, so the tissue sits snugly at the back of the cup.

Plan 2: This plan follows her own anatomy. I placed the applicators right where her pockets of fat are. That precision is a big part of what sets CoolSculpting apart from liposuction, where fat is vacuumed out.

Plan 3: Men get CoolSculpting just like women. This is a full, comprehensive plan for a male client, with overlapping applicator placements to cover the whole area.
Is CoolSculpting Right for You?
It tends to be a good fit for people who are at or near their goal weight and have stubborn, pinchable fat that diet and exercise haven't moved. It isn't right for everyone, and certain medical conditions rule it out. That's part of what we cover in your consultation, so we can make sure it's a good fit before you start.

While you're here, ask about CoolTone. CoolSculpting reduces the fat, and CoolTone strengthens and tones the muscle underneath it. You can read more in my post on CoolTone and core strength.
